Well... I used to thank people any time they favorited one of my pictures... I like to thank people for faving my work, and was taught to be polite.

But there are some on DA who get a little, er, agitated about it...and sometimes I don't have time to do every one...so I have stopped individually thanking people/

Just know that I *really* appreciate it, you guys are awesome!

Am still thanking people who watch me--that happens far less often and not many people seem to protest that.

So thanks again guys, you really rock. : D

Only one person scared me...so I think I can count this contest an epic failure!

Ah well. So here is the features pic--and what I draw for her will also be here.

(On a completely unrelated side note, I ate way too much. Yeah. Again.)

So... here is one of the pictures I like best by :~Odjit-Banafrit: - her "9" fan character and 5. It's just a sketch, but I really liked the motion and emotion in the picture.

Scare Me on the Thirtieth!

Only one person scared me...so I think I can count this contest an epic failure!

Ah well. That person will be featured, and they get a pic from me!

(On a completely unrelated side note, I ate way too much.)

My birthday is on October 30th. I am going to be 33. (It's a 3 kind of year, apparently.) So since I missed the two page-view kiribans I wanted to do (1,300 and 13,000), I am doing this instead: my first contest.

I like to be scared. I love creepy places and books, scary dreams and movies, and spooky artwork. And so, three people who send me something spooky on Deviantart will get a picture from me. Here's how it works.

Send me a note on my birthday or Halloween (read on for details) with scary things on Deviantart. They can be yours or others...just so long as they're on Deviantart. I'll make a journal feature after my birthday of the ones I like best. (1 note per account--at least one link or thumb.)

I know I have watchers in different parts of the world, and since the magic number is 33, the three people who get closest to these three times WITHOUT going over will get the pictures:

3 in the morning, October 30th

3 in the afternoon, October 30th

13 o'clock on Halloween morning (1 in the morning, if you wanna be boring.

)

I will be going by Central Standard Time (GMT -6), and we are currently in Daylights Savings Time.

The person to get closest to whatever time he or she is aiming at will get a full picture (no more than 2 people in it) like this:

(Background--we'll talk. Background aren't my strong suit.)

The person who comes second-closest to his or her time will get a colored picture of 1 or 2 people, with a very simple background--like this:

The one who gets third closest will get a line-art picture of one character like this:

Most pictures I draw end up at 700 or 800 pixels on the long side. I will draw mostly anything except for sexual interaction or child death. And it doesn't have to be fanfiction. Look at my gallery for things I am best at, but I'm always willing to try new things. (I just can't guarantee any kind of quality on new things.

)

This will be the first contest I've hosted on DeviantART, and I hope to have fun with it! It's my birthday, but I;m giving out the treats. (Oh, okay, I'll get treats, too, with all the creepy pics I hope to get.

)

Feature: 9 - and Why Do Fools Fall In Love?

So--yes. I have seen 9 and become a fan. No, it's not perfect, but the most important parts (good story, lovable characters, and ability to draw me in) were all there, so who cares if it's not perfect? : P Anyway... Here is awesome 9 work! (WARNING! Spoilers may be in these pictures.)

(Edit--For an explanation of the odd addition to the title--I did a text meme thingy...it sounded fun. It's at the very bottom of this entry.

That'll explain everything. I definitely haven't fallen in love! XP )

So, to start out with--9 The movie's named 9, it makes sense to begin with 9 here, yes? This was a very good rendition of the main character and his cool flashlight staff.

9, 7, and 5 are out on a scouting mission, perhaps--some kind of adventure! This one has the stitchpunk characters down well, and the background fits, too.

I love the mood for this one. It really shows 6's obsessive personality, and the creepy feeling of the entire 9 world.

This is just cute--really shows 4 and 5's personalities. I can see this happening. : )

The twins, 3 and 4, are my favorites, and these three pictures really capture their personality. They're in the top ten of cutest things in the galaxy. LOL

Obvious spoiler... Comes from the end of the movie. 5 reassures 9 that goodbyes are okay. (And hopefully not permanent.) Great emotion.

The sketchy, toxic mood of this piece reflects the mood of the entire movie.

Some general character portraits I thought showed their personalities well.

2 and 1, a couple of countdown-to-movie pictures. (2 is just cut here, and 1's facial expression is perfect.)

This is the coolest picture of 7, the warrior of the group. She kicks all sorts of behind, and I love the stark colors and the dynamic energy in this picture.

Here are a few cool OCs for the 9 universe that I liked.

This cat beast is awesomely drawn. He was the first antagonist of the movie, but was taken care of by 7 fairly early on.
