To Define And Teach Us

To define us and to teach us... That was the twins' purpose as intended by their creator. Here they are, perusing their beloved books, recording and cataloguing.

So--my first canon "9" artwork--my two favorite characters in stitchpunk form. It wasn't easy (and reference pictures are a bit scarce), but I was pretty pleased with the outcome.

I could have done better on the lighting, but this was new enough territory that I was pleased to get what I got. I even managed to get their texture fairly well, which I am thrilled about.

They seem to have some kind of pouch or pack built into their bodies, but I couldn't find a clear reference, so I had to make do with what I did find. I used mostly a paused theatrical trailer and the scientist's design sheet from the 9 website.

(Edit: ~Odjit-Banafrit mentioned that the twins are made from a pair of gloves...and I think she's right! Once she mentioned that, I could finally see it...the pouch on the back is the thumb of the gloves--the pattern and material look like they were made from gardening gloves and the hoods are the soft-cloth material at the wrist! I;m no good at figuring stuff like that out, so I love when others point it out. No wonder they're twins. Gloves come in pairs!)
