Ryo is in a little bit of trouble--and Kale is extremely smug about the whole thing. This one came out really well; action pictures like this aren't easy for me, so I was thrilled to have this one turn out so well. I tell you, his sword scabbard was hard to get to look right in profile!

I'd be happy to give some pointers, though I don;t know how good a teacher I am. Probably not very. Really, for the most basic advice, just...look at bodies. Naked bodies...look at all the nudes on Deviantart or other art sites. Once you get ast the ::snicker, look there's his dingy:: phase, it's really helpful for understanding how bodies work.
Same with faces - just look at loads of them and draw them all the time. I can suggest an author, too, who writes drawing instruction books: Burne Hogarth. His stuff works well for me. "Drawing Dynamic Figures" is one of my favorites.

I'm much better at animals. Horses and wolves are two of my best. I tend to be a 'sight' drawer...if that makes sense. I like having a model to look at while I draw basically. That's why it's hard for me to come up with original material that looks decent. I may be giving drawing the Ronins a shot. I have one I did based on a DVD cover that turned out really well. Maybe I'll post it.

True, it's easier to draw what you see. but the more you do that, the more you get used to what those models look on paper, the more you can apply that to non-model drawings. See I don't draw animals very well...I think if you can draw animals well, you have difficulty with humans and vice versa. And horses are very tough for me. I have drawn exactly one I am happy with and that took some doing.
