This definitely did not fit in any of the main categories! A bolt of lightning makes its way across the country.
It came about from a weird conversation I had with my cousin. (We have a lot of those.) Lightning flashed outside and I told her so, and she said that it had done so there, too, even though it wasn't very stormy yet over there. So I said maybe it was the same bolt of lightning, and we discussed how a bolt of lightning would get halfway across the country. We decided it took a jet.
