Description

And so--this is Buck, from Ice Age 3, just after he loses his eye to....

RUDY!

...the Great White Beast! D:

And thus part 4 of my Dark Fan art regime. I'm catching up!

I'm very stunned by the raw emotion you have Buck show here. The bared teeth and gums really add emphasis to the pain he is in as does his posture.

As for the colors, they're dark and a little muted, which helps set the mood for the scene, as does the rain. On the other hand, some spots are light enough that the picture doesn't come off as flat, especially on the arms and lips.

But I think the real clinchers are the blood and how Buck is hiding his injury.

The blood comes out a little thick but its shading makes up for that and the bloodstains you added into the fur really help drive the point home.

Last but not least, the angles of Buck's fingers, next to the blood and the expression, seem to demand the most attention. Granted, you could have had some of Buck's fingers, or at least the ones covering his eye, posed at sharper angles. Even so, though, their positions are realistic and do a good job of leaving the viewers to cringe at how painful the wound is.

Overall, this picture is well done, very moving, and really makes the viewer feel for Buck.
