So---there would eventually come a day when WALL-E could no longer be repaired...and would so die, as a human dies. I imagine at that point that EVE would want to follow him...and would.

And what would the humans do? They would enshrine the robots in a museum--a museum of natural history, a history rediscovered by a society who had only recently learned to live again on Earth, who then added their own chapter.

WALL-E and EVE were only robots, but they had hearts and spirits the same as any human, and it was because of their hearts that they were able to bring mankind back where it belonged.
